Live scan fingerprinting is a fingerprinting process that is done electronically here in California. This allows you to apply for different jobs, licenses, certifications, permits, etc. In order to do live scan fingerprinting, you will need to have what is called a "Request for Live Scan" form. You will get this form from whoever is asking you to get fingerprinted. The cost can vary anywhere from $30-$150 depending on what you are doing it for.
Ink Fingerprinting also known Hard Card/ FD258 ink cards is primarily done when people are applying for Jobs or Licenses that are out of state and/or for government jobs or government agencies. You can also use FBI Inc. cards to get what is known as a identity history summary check (IdHSC) from the FBI. We also offer another option for this type of background check that is known as an expedited FBI background check which you have to be a US citizen or resident alien in order to do this eservice.
The FBI can provide individuals with a Identity History Summary/ Criminal History Record or a “rap sheet” that list certain information taken from fingerprint submissions and kept by the FBI. These FBI record reports are usually used for personal record reviews, foreign travel/working in a foreign country, for adoption as well as a few other things. You are generally get these reports back within 72 hours or sometimes same day. We also offer Apostille Services as well.
